T Family Portraits | Yakima

My friends Connie and Rupert were traveling from one edge of the state to the other this past weekend, and they managed to squeeze in some time for me to photograph them here in Yakima. They actually lived here for a time, five or six years ago, which is how I met them. We were both involved in a small group of families from church who met weekly for Bible Study and prayer, which meant that we got to share with them in their longing and praying for children. What a joy it was for me to meet their daughter this weekend – an answer to my very own prayers! And now they are getting ready to welcome their second child into the world in a few months.

I loved this set of photos, particularly because of the story it tells about parenthood. Little Y was climbing over, crawling under, or pulling on her parents during most of the shoot, which is a exactly what children do. Instead of seeing that as any sort of nuisance, her parents responded with joy. It was such a treat for me to see how God has answered my friends’ prayers, and is turning them into a beautiful, growing family. Looking through these photos makes me so happy. I hope it does the same for you.
